Training Division

Welcome Friends,

I am the commander for the Training Division and it is my privilege, with my staff of professionals, to provide training to you.

The Training Division is responsible for the training for all employees within the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Due to the size and diversity of our clients the Training Division is divided into four separate disciplines which include: Law Enforcement training, Corrections training, Civilian training, and the Law Enforcement Field Training program.

The Law Enforcement training unit consists of Executive Officer Lt. Sean Murray, Sergeant Kevin O'Brien and a staff of ten trainers.

The Corrections training unit consists of Executive Officer Lt. Greg Lowell, Sergeant Brian Ronk and a staff of six trainers.

The Law Enforcement Field Training program consists of Executive Officer Lt. James Putnik.

The Civilian training unit consists of three trainers that are responsible for training all of the civilian staff.

In addition, the Training Division is responsible for the fitness of the agency and has oversight of eight fitness training facilities. This unit is supervised by Sergeant Stanley Bullard and consists of a fulltime personal trainer, Grant Homa.

The Training Division has a Firearms Range and two Armories. These facilities are supervised by Sergeant Steven Dickinson and Sergeant Mark Evans.

All of these units are supported by an enthusiastic clerical support group supervised by Office Manager Dawn Hall.

This highly eager staff is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing the educational, technical and developmental requirements of the agency and are here to assist with all of your training and educational needs.

Please call us at 688-3565 for any questions you may have.

Yours in Service,

Captain Ron Mattino
Commanding Officer
