A Message from Captain Prieschl……
Welcome to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Training Division website. My name is Captain John Prieschl and I am truly honored to have been selected to serve as the Commanding Officer for training. I was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. In fact, I have lived in the West Palm Beach my entire life, so I can assure you that I have a strong vested interest in our community and the services that we provide.
Our Main Training Facility is located on Cherry Road in West Palm Beach. The division is comprised of 47 personnel, which are allocated as follows: 1 Captain, 3 Lieutenants, 7 Sergeants, 1 Office Support Supervisor, 18 Sworn Trainers, 6 Civilian Trainers, and 11 Support Staff. We are also responsible for overseeing our Driving Facility, Firearms Range, 2 Armories, and 10 Fitness Centers, which are located in different venues throughout the agency.
The Training Division is a multi-faceted component within the sheriff's office. The training programs and services that we provide to our greatest asset, 4,000+ employees, is essential to our mission at PBSO, of being committed to protecting the public, reducing the incidence and fear of crime, and enhancing the quality of life in our community through Integrity, Professionalism, Respect and Fairness. We are responsible for the agency's Field Training Programs, In-Service Training Programs, and other Specialized Training Classes that are taught internally and contracted externally with highly qualified experts in the industry.
We are continuously striving to develop and implement the highest quality training in the industry. We are committed to networking and doing our research to stay on the leading edge of issues and trends that are relevant to law enforcement, corrections, and general public service. We believe that quality training saves lives and has a direct (positive) impact on the quality of service that we provide to our community.
Our trainers and support staff are dedicated, well-trained, and highly motivated. Please feel free to contact us at (561) 242-5800 for any questions and/or concerns that you may have regarding the training or services that we provide.
Yours in Service,
