PAL 17 go 3-1 in East Cobb
After rain washed out the first two days the tournament was reformatted. Almost each team was able to get one game in before elimination games began. PAL was 3-1 with a loss in the round of 128 that eliminated them from contention for the tournament championship.
Game 1 vs. Action Baseball Club 17U: W 6-2, Pavin Smith (DH) supplied much needed offense with a bases loaded clearing double in the bottom of 5th to break a 2-2 tie. Michael Smicklas (OF) added a single, run and stolen base. Alex Katz (RHP) and Bruce Bechtel (RHP) each threw 3 innings, combining for 8 K’s.
Game 2 vs. Team Citius Blue: W 9-1, Bruce Steel (SS) and Alex Aristy (OF) each homered in the bottom of the 3rd to lead PAL to its victory. Steel’s was a solo shot to left and Aristy’s three-run homer sealed the win. Spencer Stockton (RHP) pitched 3 innings, allowed 2 hits and struck out 6. Shane Sawczak (LHP) and Ryan Berger (LHP) each completed an inning of work to close the game.
Game 3 vs. Evoshield Canes 17U South: L 7-1, It was a hard fought game between the two teams with Evoshield up 2-0 after 5 innings. Koby Pepia (2B) hit a one out double with a runner on 1st in the top of the 6th to set up runners at 2nd and 3rd. Jameel Edney (3B) followed with a sac fly. With the next pitch Koby Pepia was caught trying to steal home to end PAL’s threat. Evoshield went on to add 5 runs in the bottom half of the 6th to pull away. Will Engel (RHP) pitched 3 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs. Colin Smith (RHP) and Austin Schultz (RHP) followed on the mound to finish out the game.
Game 4 vs. Top Tier Americans: W 9-5, PAL victory was lead offensive with 7 runs in the first three innings by Koby Pepia (3B) double and 2 RBI, Pavin Smith (DH) home run and doubles by Alex Aristy (OF), Jameel Edney (SS). Shane Sawczak (LHP) got the start. He completed 2 innings struck out 3 and allowed 1 BB. Tanner Hurley (RHP), Ryan Berger (LHP), Austin Schultz (RHP), Austin Smith (RHP) and Phillip Sieli (RHP) each followed with an inning each.

PAL gets 1 seed going into new pool. Wins two in first day vs Tenn. Dores Gold and Bullets baseball
In game one of the new pool, PAL beat The Tenn. Dores Gold 7-1. Zach Zeintarski threw a complete game giving up 4 hits and getting 8ks while walking no one. Joey Genord and Colin Smith both ahd two hits while Colin provided the big hit with a bases loaded double.
Game two - PAL beat Bullets BAseball 6-2. Phillip Seili threw 5 shutout innings giving up 4 hits and gaining 5 ks. Jowenrick Danntji had three hits to lead PAL to the win.
Game 3 will be a showdown with Team Impact (both teams 2-0 in new pool) Winner of game will advance to playoffs.
PAL wins final pool game 9-3 vs Peurto Rico SBO.
Mitchell Senger, Michael Eberhart and Tyler Frank led the pitching giving up 4 hits, 4ks and 1 bb. Bruce Martin had 2 hits while Chris Canavan added two rbi. PAL finishes first pool 3-0.
PAL 16s win two games in day one of PG BCS
Game 1 - PAL beat the CT Select 9-2. Joey Genord was 3-3 with 2 doubles and 1 rbi. Julyia, Martin and Frank all collected 2 hits each. Hunter Bowling, Michael Spooner and Zach Zeintarski combined to allow 4 hits, 7ks, 2 bb.
Game 2 - PAL comes back in the bottom of the 7th to score 2 runs to win 3-2 against the Pro Source TX team. Daykota Julyia collected two hits with one being the game winner in the bottom of the 7th. Colin Smith, Dylan Gordan, Austin Smith and Kyle Farjad combined to allow 3 hits, 11ks and 4 bb.
PAL 16s win first round playoffs and get elminated in round of 16 of USA Baseball National Tournament
Game 1 of playoffs, PAL beat SF Prospects 3-2 with Matthew Mica leading the offence with 2 hits and Colin Smith collecting 2 rbi. Tyler Krull, Michael Spooner and Colin Smith combined to give up 5 hits, 5ks and 3 bb.
Game 2 - PAL loses to Demarini in round of 16, 4-1. PAL obtained 6 hits with Mica and Genord collecting 2 hits each. PAL pitching gave up 9 hits and 4 bb to put it out of reach.

PAL 17 concludes pool play 4-1, earns 6th seed, wins first round playoff game
17U ended pool play with a 6-3 lost to Jacksonville Rockets. PAL had its opportunities stranding 5 runners in the last two innings.
PAL won its first round playoff game 11-3. William Engel (RHP), Austin Schultz (RHP) & Michael Smicklas (RHP) held the opponent to 3 runs and the offense was lead by Bruce Steel (SS) 2-run HR, Koby Pepia (2B) RBI triple, Pavin Smith (DH) 2 run double and Mack Nathanson pair of singles and one double.

Game 1 - PAL 11 Team Citus Red 4 - PAL banged out 12 hits, Jowenrick Daantji had 3 hits, 2 rbi and 1 run scored. 6 pitchers combined to give up 5 hits and 4 runs.
Game 2 - PAL 10 Hardball Baseball 0 - PAL collected another 12 hits, Chris Canavan collect 3 hits while Philip Seili added 2. Connor power had the big hit which plated 3 runs. Micahel Spooner left the game perfect through 3 and a third. All three pitchers combined to give up two hits and no runs.
Game 3 - PAL 7 Score 17s 3 - PAL again hit the ball well collecting 11 hits.Matthew Mika had 3 hits while Bruce martin and Austin smith added in with 2 hits a piece. Brandon Lauer, Tyler Krull and Michael Razzo combined to allow 5 hits and 2 earned runs.
Game 4 - PAL 16s 2 PAl 17s 7 - PAL 16s only managed 4 hits and two runs while giving up 7 runs on 5 hits and 10 free passes. Tough day on the mound for the PAL 16s. I will leave out the names to protect the guilty.
Game 5 - PAL 4 Georgia Select 3 - With PAL only having 4 hits through 6 innings, PAL exploded for 5 hits in the bottom of the 7th to score 4 runs and win the game. PAL was held down the entire game until the 7th inning, great win. Mika, Daantji, Julyia and Seili all got hits to drive in runs in the final inning.
PAL 16s get the 10 seed moving into the playoffs on Monday, June 25.
PAL 14U finishes in the elite 8 in the USA Nationals
Pal Beats Team Citius 10-9 in extra innings. Sam Wurth, Charlie Von Werne and Logan Cook combine for the win. Terek Latchmansing has a walk off single.
PAL falls to Mizuno Elite 4-0. James Marinan and Zack Padgett pitch well. The offense struggled today.
PAL loses 10-9 to A Baseball. Pitching struggled while the offense erupted for 12 hits. The offense was lead by Reese Albert, Andrew Lee, Terek Latchmansing.
Pal beats PB Rebels 10-0. Great pitching from Logan Cook and Joe Hewitt. Justin Barney, Brady McConnell, Terek latchmansing, Reese Albert were all part of the hitting barrage.
Pal Beats #7 seed Fort Bend Texans 7-0. Sam Wurth and Emmanuel Fernandez pitch Great. The bats were lead by Andrew Lee Nathaniel Brodsky and Terek Latchmansing.
Pal is eliminated by eventual champions Miami Suns 4-1. Very good pitching from Charlie Von Werne and Andrew Lee. Offense was lead by Brendan Power, Reese Albert and Terek Latchmansing.
Friday's reseed puts PAL 16 vs. PAL 17
PAL 17 welcomes back Bruce Bechtel (RHP) who made his first start/appearance of the summer. Bechtel pitched the first inning allowing 1 run and struck out 1. He was followed by Shane Sawczak (LHP) who went 3 scoreless innings, Michael Smicklas (RHP) 1 1/3 innings and Jeremy Graf (RHP) 1 2/3 innings to seal PAL 17's 7-2 win over their younger brothers PAL 16. Offensively, Bruce Steel (SS), Pavin Smith (DH) and Michael Smicklas (OF) combined to have 3 hits, 4 rbi and 3 runs.
PAL 17 concluded draw play 3-0 with a win Thursday night
Ben McGrath (LHP) pitched 6 innings allowing 5 hits, no walks, 3 runs and struck out 3. Going into the bottom of the sixth McGrath had only allowed 1 hit. Tyler Barre (RHP) got the final three outs in the seventh inning for PAL's 10-3 victory. Michael Smicklas (OF) was 3 for 4 2 singles, double, 2 rbi, Bruce Steel (3B) added 2 singles of his own with Mack Nathanson (C), Spencer Stockton (1B) and Kevin Fry (OF) contributing RBI base knocks.
PAL 17 win 2 on first day of USA National
PAL won game one 5-1 behind Spencer Stockton (RHP) who worked 5 innings, allowed 4 hits, 1 run, no walks and struck out 2. He was followed by Shane Sawczak (LHP) and William Engel (RHP) who each worked a scoreless inning. Kevin Fry (OF) continued his hot hitting 2 for 2 1B, 2B, RBI. Logan Heiser (C) added a double. Bruce Steel (SS), Ben McGrath (LF), Pavin Smith (DH) & Jameel Edney (3B) each contributed singles.
PAL won game two 2-1 behind another outstanding pitching performance lead by Alex Katz (RHP). Katz allowed 1 hit, no walks, struck out 2 in 5 innings. Ryan Berger (LHP) and Jeremy Graf (RHP) each worked one inning. Tyler Barre (C) was 2 for 2 with 2 1B and a BB. Pavin Smith (DH) added a RBI 2B. It was Smith's ground ball in the bottom of the 6th that the second baseman had a hard time handling allowing the go ahead run to score. Koby Pepia (2B) and Kevin Fry (OF) each added singles.
Pal 14U wins Florida State Championship in the Prospect Wire Tournament
Game one: Pal played A-Baseball out of Miami. Sam Wurth and Andrew Lee combined to hold A-Baseball to two runs while Reese Albert led the offensively with 3 hits. Pal 4 - 2.
Game two: Pal played Tampa Terror and won 5-1. Zach Pagett and Logan Cook pitched a great game allowing only three hits and one run. Tyler Ward had two hits to lead the offense.
Game Three: Pal played Angels Red Baseball to a 2-2 tie in 5 innings. In the top of the 6th inning PAL plated three runs to take a 5-2 lead but the rains came and the game could not be completed thus reverting back to 5th inning. James Marinan and Charlie Von Werne pitched excellent and Andrew Lee had two hits.
Game four: Pal Played Tampa Threshers and Emmanuel Fernandez threw a complete game shutout. Pal wins 10-0.
Championship Game Pal played Eagles Baseball in Orioles Stadium. Logan Cook, Sam Wurth, Andrew Lee and Tyler Ahern pitched holding Eagles to 5 runs. Pal trailed 5-1 after two innings but played solid baseball and was able to chip away and win the championship on a two out single by Terek Latchmansing scoring Tyler Ahearn from second on a bang bang play at the plate. Pal wins 6-5!! Andrew Lee is named the tournament MVP for great pitching and hitting.
PAL 16s make it to Semi-Finals of Prospectwire State Finals
Game one of playoffs - PAL beat the Florida Burn 16u 7-2. Zach Zeintarski, Tyler Krull and Mitchel Senger combined to allow two hits and two runs while Joey Genord provided the big 2 rbi hit to lead PAl to the win.
Game two of palyoffs - PAL beat the CFBL Mizuno Red 3-2. Austin Smith lead the pitching and had help from Dylan Gordon and Colin Smith to complete the game. The pitchers gave up 5 hits and 2 runs to hold CFBL down while Matthew Mica lead the team with 2 hits and 2 rbi.
In the Semi-Finals, PAL played the Florida Burn Silver who ran through pool play and two playoff games without giving up a run and getting the #1 seed. PAL lost a hard fought game 4-3, with PAL having a runner thrown out at home to end the game. Kyle Farjad and Brendan Lower combined to allow 6 hits and 4 runs. PAL banged out 9 hits with Mathew Mica leading the way with 3 hits. Jowenrick Daantji and Phillip Seili also added two hits a piece.
Next Stop for the 16s is the USA Tournament in Jupiter where all three PAL teams will be competing.
17U eliminated in the quarterfinals of Prospectwire Florida State Finals
PAL 17 had a chance to tie the game at 10 with 2 runners on in the last inning, but Gold Glove 18U were able to get the final out of the game on a ground ball to third to end PAL's threat and advance to the Semifinals with a 10-8 victory Wednesday morning. Offensively, leadoff hitter, Kevin Fry (OF), set the tone going 3-3 with 1B, 2 2B's, BB, RBI, R, while Pavin Smith (DH) added a 2B, 3 RBI & R. Logan Heiser (C) and Michael Smicklas (OF, P) contributed a 1B and R each.
Ryan Berger, William Engel & Michael Smicklas each took the mound in an attempt to hold the opponent at bay.
After giving up 6 runs in the top of the 1st PAL came right back to score 5 runs of their own to get right back in game. Each team went scoreless for the next two innings until the 4th where both scored 3 runs each making 9-8 Gold Glove 18U. Gold Glove added another run in the top of the 5th to make it 10-8 and that's how the score ended.

17U advance to quarterfinals with another shutout
PAL 17U advance to the quarterfinals tomorrow morning with a 4-0 victory. The team's third shutout of the tournament was lead by Alex Katz, 5 IP 2 H 4 K 2 BB. A double play in 6th allowed PAL to escape its opponent's only scoring opportunity with runners on 2nd & 3rd.
PAL hitters were able to plate 4 runs on 6 hits. Will Engel, Bruce Steel & Logan Heiser combined to collect 5 hits, 3 runs and 3 rbi.
PAL resumes elimination play tomorrow at 9 am on the final day of the tournament. GO GET 'EM AGAIN PAL 17U, 16U & 14U!!!
PAL 17 win 6-0 behind complete game shutout
Spencer Stockton threw a complete game 4 hit shutout with 8 K's, no walks and only threw 77 pitches over 7 innings. Lead off hitter, Kevin Fry, set the tone for the offense going 2-4 with a 1B and 3B. Koby Pepia, Shortsop, was 2-3 with 1B, 2B, R and 3 RBI. Logan Heiser and Pavin Smith added 2 hits each to add to PAL's 13 hit offensive attack.

Mike Spooner threw 5 shutout innings to lead PAL to the 10-0 win. Dylan Gordan and Kyle Farjad both threw perfect innings to preserve the win. Daykota Julyia, Chris Canavan and Bruce Martin all collected 2 hits each to lead the 11 hit attack by PAL.

PAL 17U rally down 2 with 4 runs in the last two innings to win 4-3. Led by Michael Smicklas, 2-3 1 RBI 1 Run, and Mack Nathanson RBI 2B.
Chad Fleischman held the opponent for 4 1/3 with 3 K's and 2 BB to allow PAL to comeback for the win. Ryan Berger came in to get the final 2 outs in the bottom of 5th.
Coach Groover prompted the rallies with his presence as 1st base coach.

Five pitchers combined to give up no runs and one hit. Brendon Lauer, Zach Zientarski, Tyler Krull, Mitchell Senger and Michael Eberhart also colleted 7 strikeouts to 4 walks. PAL gathered 11 hits led by Joey Genord's 3 hits, 2 rbi and Phillip Sieli with 2 hits.
17U Wins game one of Prospectwire
17U wins 10-0 in game one of pool play. Strong offensive performance from Michael Smicklas, 3-3 3 RBI, Bruce Steel, 2-3 1 RBI, and Ben McGrath 2-3 1RBI.
Will Engel pitched 3 innings with no hits, 2 K's and 1 BB. Tyler Barre and Ben McGrath each pitched an inning to close out the game.

PAL Baseball heading to Sarasota for the Prospectwire State Finals
All three teams will be making the trip over to Sarasota, not sure if we will be playing baseball or swimming but we will be there!
14U falls short to Palm Beach Select 15U
Too many errors behind great pitching from Andrew Lee and Emmanuel Fernandez. Tyler Ahern and Mike Rothenberg were 1 for 2 in the game.
14U loses to West Boca Panthers 16u 13 - 3.
We learned we have alot of work to do to compete at this level. Good pitching from James Marinan to keep us in the game through 4 innings. Terek Latchmansign hit a line drive double off the left field fence.
PAL 17U goes down 7-5 to the Freshwater Storm 18U
Too many errors and not enough luck. This game would have been won had we caught the ball better. If the feelign of a loss doesn't get you hungry for the next game I don't know what does.
PAL 17U defeats JMBC Sentinels 9-1
McGrath and Smiciklas hold down the Sentinels offense while Pavin Smith goes yard dog (with the help of his hitting coach Mike Hurley) to seal the victory and 6th seed in the playoffs.

PAL 16 handles W. Boca Panthers for UnderArmour Championship
In the semi-finals, PAL play a team from Puerto Rico, called Vasqueros. PAL won the game behind a stellar oitching performance by Brendon Lauer. He pitched a complete game, 8 ks, 3 hits and giving up no walks. PAL banged out 6 hits, with Matthew Mica and Daykota Julyia knocking in 2 runs each.
In the finals, PAL handled the W. Boca Panthers easily with a 13-5 win. PAL had 18 hits with Austin Smith and Jowenrick Daantji chipping in with 3 hits each. Phillip Sieli smoked a triple and added 3 rbi. Zach Zientarski, Kyle Farjad, Colin Smith all pitched to gain the vicotry.
PAL 16s win first two games of playoffs, 5-3 and 3-2 to advance to Semi-finals
In game one, PAL beat the Columbus Explorers15s 5-3. Matthew Mika and Conner Power lead the offense going 2-3 with a RBI each. Conner's RBI came on a solo shot to left field.
In game two, PALwins a very tight game 3-2. The Jacksonville Warriors scored two in the first inning and PAL score one run in the first, fifth and sixth to take the W. Tyler Krull came in the fourth and threw 3 shutout inning to take the win. Conner Power and Joe Genord both had 2 hits with Michael Spooner and Bruce Martin coming through with big RBIs to help secure the win. PAL advances to the semi-finals on Monday morning.

Phillip Sieli and Mitchell Senger combined to allow three hits and shutout the TAP 16 team to lead PAL to the number one seed going into the playoffs. Matthew Mika lead the offense with 2 hits, 2 runs and 3 RBI. Joe Genord chipped in with 2 RBI.
16u gets off to fast start with 14-0 win.

PAL 14U fights to a 6 - 6 tie with S Fl Breakers 15U
The Game started with a great deal of energy and Pal jumped out to a 6 - 0 lead. Great pitching from Sam Wurth who threw 4 innings of no hit baseball. Offensively Andrew Lee tripled and Joe Kelly doubled. Unfortunately we were unable to hold the lead as the game ended in a tie.
