My name is Lieutenant Jose L. Gonzalez and I have been the Executive Officer of Court Security and Civil Unit for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Court Services Division since September 2006. I have over 30 years of law enforcement experience and have served with the Puerto Rico Police Department, the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department and with the Sheriff’s Office since February 1989.

During my tenure with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office I have served as a Road Patrol Deputy Sheriff, a member and Sergeant of the SWAT team for 14 years and Detective Sergeant of the District 4 Property Crimes Unit.

The Civil Process Unit carries out the sheriff's statutory responsibility for the service of process and execution of writs. These judicial process documents originate from the courts, governmental agencies and private attorneys in Florida and throughout the United States and include:

Ø  Summonses, Complaints and Subpoenas
Ø  Writs of Possession for real estate - Final Notice - "Eviction"
Ø  Injunctions for protection against domestic violence

The Civil Process Unit also enforces levies and Writs of Attachment and conducts Sheriff's sales to aid in the collection of money judgments. Annually, the division processes and serves more than 120,000 documents.
