Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound on N. Dixie Highway, within the outside lane of travel, approaching the intersection of 5th Ave. North.

Pedestrian 1 was attempting to cross N. Dixie Highway, from east to west, within the intersection of 5th Ave. North.

As Vehicle 1 approached the intersection, Pedestrian 1 darted into the roadway and was immediately struck by Vehicle 1.

During the collision the front of Vehicle 1 impacted Pedestrian 1, subsequently vaulting him into the air and onto the roadway. Pedestrian 1 came to final rest within the outside northbound lane of N. Dixie Highway, just north of the area of the collision.

Pedestrian 1 was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
