Tammy Waldrop - Corrections Operations
Major Tammy Waldrop is currently the commanding officer of the Operations Bureau of the Department of Corrections. The bureau consists of Standards and Staff Development Division, Corrections Court Security Division, and Inmate Management Division. The bureau is staffed by 3 captains, 5 lieutenants, 17 sergeants, 3 jail inspectors, 159 deputies, and 122 civilian support staff.
Major Waldrop began her career with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in 1987. She was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1992, rank of lieutenant in 1998, rank of captain in 2003, and most recently to her current rank of major in 2005. Major Waldrop has held many positions within her tenure at both the Main Detention Center and the Stockade.
Major Waldrop serves as a Commissioner for the Florida Corrections Accreditation Association Commission, and has been involved with the accreditation process since 1998. She is also a Certified Jail Manager awarded from the American Jail Association.
Major Waldrop's educational achievement include an Associate of Arts Degree from Palm Beach Community College, Bachelors Degree from Florida Atlantic University, Masters Degree from the University of Alabama, and is currently seeking a Doctoral Degree in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University.
Major Waldrop is married with one child.
