Antonio Araujo - Western Regional Bureau of Field Operations
Following his tenure as a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, Major Antonio Araujo began his career at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in 1982 as a Deputy Sheriff. He has worked in and supervised a variety of assignments within the agency. He has been promoted through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and was appointed to the rank of Major on February 12, 2009.
Major Tony Araujo oversees the Western Regional Bureau of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office which encompasses seven (7) Sheriff’s Office districts west of 441/State Road 7 for Central and Western Palm Beach County as well as six (6) Western Regional Watch Commanders. The districts include the cities of Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee Groves, Belle Glade, South Bay, Pahokee and the unincorporated areas of the Acreage and western Palm Beach County.
Major Araujo earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Administration from Barry University and is a graduate of the Senior Executives in State and Local Government at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Major Araujo is married with three adult children and three grandchildren.
