Andrea Lueghausen - Director, Communications Operations Bureau
Bureau Director Andrea Lueghausen is responsible for the Communications Operations Bureau, which encompasses Communications, Telecommunications, Central Records, Alternate Response Unit, and Radio Services. Including two Senior Planners, a total of 266 personnel, both civilian and sworn law enforcement, are assigned to various specialty areas within the Bureau.
Ms. Lueghausen began her career with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in 1978 working as a 911 dispatcher. Throughout the next 32 years, she has held positions, both at PBSO and a large municipal police department, as a training officer, training supervisor, shift supervisor and Communications Manager. In 2006 she was promoted to Bureau Director at PBSO.
Bureau Director Lueghausen has obtained a Legal Studies Degree from Palm Beach Community College and is currently pursuing her degree in Emergency Management with a minor in Homeland Security through Jacksonville State University. She is an active member of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International (APCO), and the Florida Records Management Association (FRMA).
