Last week Puerto Rico and Mexico experienced two devastating catastrophes. Puerto Rico was hit by the strongest hurricane to hit the area in 80 years, Hurricane Maria, a Category 4. Simultaneously, Mexico experienced a 7.1 earthquake which killed more than 155 people and damaged dozens of buildings.

PBSO united with the Puerto Rican Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for Palm Beach County and Florida Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce, Humana, Home Depot, State Farm, Roman Security Services, Palm Beach State College, and Don Ramon Restaurant to donate supplies for those affected. The organizations collected, non-perished foods, baby food, blankets, clothes, and cleaning supplies among other items. The drop-off locations were The Greenacres Community Center, La Cosinita Latina Restaurant, and CIDRA Church. Thanks to all those who supported the effort.
