Fireworks on the 4th
Independence Day is a great time for families and friends to come together - watch fireworks, grill, and enjoy a good day at the beach or the pool. Yet, disasters tend to happen. Every year, an estimated 11,000 people are treated for injuries related to fireworks. While fireworks are legal to purchase in Florida, they are illegal to set off without a license. Swimming is fun, but we have to do it safely. We recently had a children’s book launch of, "Gaspar's Big Day." An illustrated children's book that talks about safety tips when going out to swim. Sheriff Ric Bradshaw would like to remind drivers with a keyless car to be sure to turn off your car, especially when parked in your garage. Dozens of people have been poisoned by carbon monoxide after failing to turn off the ignition on their keyless cars.West Boynton Shredding Event
We believe identity theft can be prevented! We joined Shred-It to host a free document shredding event at West Boynton Community Park. We had over 18,000 pounds of documents shredded. A special thanks to Corporal Natasha Mitchell and the Santaluces High School Criminal Justice Students who volunteered their time and energy.
Home Schoolers learn about Careers in Law Enforcement
One of the most rewarding things we do here is shaping the lives of our future generations. That's why we invited a group of home-schooled children to learn about what we do here at Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office and show them all the careers Law Enforcement has to offer them. Someone found a suspicious package with a white substance outside his residence AND he picked it up and brought it to PBSO HQ. We were immediately put on lockdown. The unknown substance did have a trace amount of a dangerous substance. See something suspicious? DON’T TOUCH IT. Just call 911.
