A Message from Captain Grimes:

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself as the Commander of the Western Regional District 5. My name is Captain Nancy Grimes.  I am a 25 year veteran of law enforcement at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. My previous assignments include: patrol operations, organized crime/narcotics/money laundering investigations, intelligence operations, community affairs, traffic operations, and disaster/all-hazard/terrorism/emergency operations and airport operations under the Homeland Security Bureau of the Sheriff’s Office. My expertise also includes grant writing and the creation and implementation of new, innovative police programs. In addition, I am an instructor in police disciplines and on the adjunct faculty staff of Palm Beach State College, Florida Atlantic University and Capella University.

As part of the western community, the deputies and employees of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Western Region (District 5 - Unincorporated Area, District 11 - City of South Bay, and District 12 - City of Pahokee) are committed to assisting citizens in improving their quality of life here in the Glades.

We accomplish this by empowering our deputies through the philosophies and practices of community policing which encourages them to work with communities utilizing problem-solving techniques. Deputies and supervisors are assigned a sector of responsibility, where they develop strategies and action plans aimed at combating crime and providing public service, while working in direct partnership with the community. Our efforts are timely, and geared towards addressing not only the symptom but also the cause of any given issue/challenge that affects the safety and well-being of the community.

The members of Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Western Community Districts are well equipped and trained to provide you professional law enforcement services that are enhanced by the overall resources and personnel of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Problem solving is our way of doing business at all levels, and is accomplished in concert with the community we serve.

We stand ready to serve your needs, and ask that you join us in keeping the Western Communities a wonderful and safe place to live, work, and play.

Thank you,

Captain Nancy Grimes
